KidZone Vacation Days

KidZone Vacation Days provide fun and adventure for children in K-5 when Ann Arbor Public Schools (AAPS) and Hebrew Day School (HDS) have scheduled closures.

Vacation days may include a combination of activities here at the J, as well as special field trips. For field trips, parents will be provided with permission slips, as well as any paperwork required by the destination.  When at the J, children will have a variety of activities available, including games, puzzles, reading, art, and sports.

There will also be a kid-friendly movie shown each day after lunch (unless there is a field trip).  In most cases, the movie shown will be within one year of it’s release date (ex. a movie which came out in 2017 will be shown in 2018).

A nutritious snack will be provided in the afternoon.

Be sure to pack the following: appropriate outdoor attire (including the winter months) and meat and nut free cold lunch.

  • Spaces available (per day): 30
  • KZ Vacation Days run: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Pre Care (8:00-9:00 am): $10/member, $15/non-member
  • Post Care (4:00-6:00 pm): $15/member, $20/non-member (fee waived for After school participants.  Late fees will apply for late pickups.  See Parent Handbook)
  • Pre and Post Care need to be signed up for individually.  Scroll down for more information.

Middle & High School Students: may join as assistants at no cost, but must have a MI Child Information Record on file to participate (see below).

*IMPORTANT* MI Child Information Record

After registering, please fill out the MI Child Information Record.  This is a “fillable” form which should be downloaded and “saved as” on your computer.  Please email it back to [email protected], or bring it in and give to the staff on your first day.  If you are having trouble filling out the form, they will be available in the KidZone Lounge for your use.

This information is required for every child and only needs to be filled out once during the academic year (you may not use the same form for more than one child. Forms must be filled out separately).  Those who do not have health information on file, will NOT be allowed to attend.  Please be sure to update us with any changes in your children’s health and bring in any medications your child may need.
