Adults are constantly told the importance of getting 8 hours of sleep per night, but how many of us actually get enough sleep?
Join Third Thursday @ the J as we welcome Donovan T. Maust and Erica Soloway who will discuss the results of The National Poll on Healthy Aging’s 2017 report on sleep. The National Poll on Healthy Aging is a recurring, nationally representative survey of American adults run through the University of Michigan. Results from the polls are used to inform policies related to health and health care.
Donovan T. Maust M.D., M.S., is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan Medical School and Research Scientist with the Center for Clinical Management Research of the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. He is a geriatric psychiatrist with a research focus on reducing potentially inappropriate prescribing to older adults. Dr. Maust earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and completed general adult residency and a geriatric psychiatry fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.
Erica Solway is an associate director of the National Poll on Healthy Aging. She also manages evaluation projects related to Medicaid through the University of Michigan Institute for Healthcare Policy & Innovation. Dr. Solwayreceived her master’s degree in social work and master’s degree in public health as well as a Specialist in Aging certificate from the University of Michigan and doctoral degree in sociology from the University of California, San Francisco.
