Third Thursday @ the J: Journalism is dead. Long Live Journalism
January 18, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pmFree
With the rise of fake news, the shuttering of local news sources, and the existence of internet blogs, the question has arisen of where communities can look for their news. ANNthology took this challenge head on; they are a group of 17 collaborators covering topics ranging from local general news to school meeting coverage to southeast Michigan food news. Together they compile a five-day-a-week email newsletter of the local news that matters.
Join us on Thursday, January 18 as Jim McBee and Demond Johnson from ANNthology discuss the rise of new sources of journalism as daily newspapers fade away, ANNthology’s role, and what the future might hold in their talk, Journalism is Dead. Long Live Journalism.
Jim McBee is a founding partner of ANNthology and currently acts as Creative Director.
Demond Johnson is Health and Wellness Collaborator for ANNthology and runs the weekly “Fitness Friday” piece.
