Arts Around Town/Israel Center: A Tale of Two Cities – Jerusalem and Washington, D.C.
November 5 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The community joins together for the first Israel Center @ the J community conversation. In this first of six, monthly conversations, Noam Zion, author and Research Fellow with the Shalom Hartman Institute travels from Jerusalem to present, “A Tale of Two Cities: Jerusalem and Washington, D.C.” Explore the history and place of each of these cities in their own societies, and explore our notions of what each represents to us and to both the Israeli and North American Jewish communities.
The six month conversation series will explore our personal, communal, and broader relationships with Israel through questions about the similarities and differences between the North American and Israeli communities. What challenges do we share? What legacies?
This event and all following conversations are an opportunity for individuals to engage thoughtfully and respectfully together as a community.
This event is free.
