The Ann Arbor JCC presents the second of a series of three evenings of oustanding, toe tapping, hand clapping, jazz, swing, and big band classics ranging from the 1920’s through the 1950’s, and more. Join us for any or all of the concerts. The cost for each performance is the same at $12/person or $10/person for J members.
The April concert features the smooth sounds of vocalist Sheila Landis and jazz guitarist Rick Matle. You can watch and listen to Sheila and Rick here. Landis is a native Detroiter who has been performing for over 30 years. She scats, sings ballads, Latin rhythms, swing, jazz, rock, and bebop equally well. She has been the recipient of many awards, including being named outstanding jazz vocalist for four different years by Detroit Music Awards. Rick Matle is a long time performance and recording partner of Landis and graduate of Oakland University. He plays not only the traditional 6 string guitar, but the unusual 7 string guitar as well.
