35th Anniversary Archive and Founders Gala
Tue September 24 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

@ the J
Back in 1984, members of the Jewish community of Ann Arbor, led by Chuck and Sharon Newman, gathered over breakfast to discuss opening a Jewish Community Center. Fast forward 35 years and the J is the thriving hub of Jewish cultural life for our community! September 2019 marks the 35th anniversary of the founding of the J, so we are inviting the “breakfast club,” members of the establishing boards of directors, and the first interim and full time executive directors to return and celebrate along with the community!
Join us for this journey through the last 35 years as an archive over a year in the making by Fran Martin opens and we share a nostalgic evening that celebrates our past as we look to build our future. The evening will include the opening of the 35th Anniversary Archive and the release of the newly published book “History of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Ann Arbor” written by Fran Martin. We will join together for elegant hors d’oeuvres and dinner* in honor of the visionaries who started our organization’s journey. We hope you will join us and consider making a significant gift to help us strengthen our future as we embark on a brand new vision. Scroll down for ticket and sponsorship information.
*All food will be kosher via a caterer under the supervision of the Detroit Vaad Ha’Rabbonim. Dinner will include pescatarian, vegetarian, and vegan options.
Event tickets $118 each include all festivities for the evening. Purchase Tickets
NOTE: Tickets must be purchased by September 16, 2019. As a catered event, we must provide the caterer with final numbers one week prior to the event.
