Instructors: Maria Farquhar (Tue.), Julia Braden (Thu.) Low-impact exercise benefits every part of the body, including the mind. Exercises in this class are done with the aid of a chair while sitting and standing and may include bands or light weights. The workout contains balance and strengthening endurance exercises. Simons Jewish Community Archives is to not only collect and preserve records of Jewish Detroit, but make them available to the community. Singer and Scholar – Dr. Galeet Dardashti

Musician Galeet Dardashti is the charismatic singer and leader of the Sephardic super-band Divahn and a scholar of  Persian-Sephardic Jewish culture and history. In cooperation with EMU's Center for Jewish Studies, the J presents Dr. Dardashti speaking on "Sacred Music Hits the Israeli Pop Charts: Money, Music, and Mizrahiyut (ethnic identify).” The event is free and open to the public.
